| Job Posting: January 2013 Accounting Position (Yaletown, Vancouver) Location: Yaletown, Vancouver Available: Immediately This is a full-time position Cookworks is a well-established Gourmet Kitchen Retailer with two locations in Vancouver that provides unique, quality products for the everyday Gourmet or the Seasoned Chef. Winner of a number of awards including "Best Retailer" in Canada the company is seeking a full-time accountant to work at Head Office in Yaletown. Job Description: Reporting to the President/Owner you will full responsibility for the company's financial reporting and preparation of annual financial statements for review by the external auditor. Position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to provide timely financial reports to the Owner. Ideal Candidate: - Five years of accounting experience in a retail environment - Enrolled in CGA/CMA and working towards designation or equivalent work experience. - Hands on experience with accounts payable, general ledger, payroll and bank reconciliation. - Hands on experience with Quick Books and previous experience with a retail software package would be an asset. - Willing to assist with admin, HR and special projects. - Able to multitask and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced and challenging environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys accounting but also wants a variety of new challenges in the demanding retail environment. We won the Canadian Retailer of the Year this year in the Gourmet Housewares category, best known for our service, exciting products, and unique displays. We have a part-time sales associate position at our downtown & West Bri location. We do not have a high pressure sales environment but we need people who can learn about our products and help customers make their choices. The downtown is unique in that the people visit us from many destinations from the cruise ships that enter as well as the convention centers or form those who work downtown. .
